Power to the People: How to Promote Citizen-Led
Accountability

Wednesday, April 17
8:00am-9:30am EST

Meaningful community engagement and citizen-led accountability can be powerful tools for inclusive, rights-based progress. However, building the room and political will for these processes can be challenging. How do you make sure that policies and programs reflect the needs and priorities of the people they are intended to serve? How can citizens get a seat and a voice at the decision-making table? How can citizens help hold their governments to account, and deliver the services they need and prioritize?

These webinars will feature leaders from local, national, and regional efforts to bring the voices of the people to policy decision-making, and hold governments accountable to addressing the needs and realities of girls and women.

Leaving No One Behind
ENGLISH
Leaving No One Behind: How to Prioritize Girls’ and
Women’s Rights in UHC

Tuesday, April 16
9:00-10:00am EST

Universal Health Coverage holds the transformative promise to provide all people, everywhere with access to the quality health services they need, without financial hardship. But this vision of leaving no one behind will not be fulfilled without a strong focus on the health and rights of girls and women. To put the “universal” in Universal Health Coverage, governments must advance a policy agenda that recognizes and prioritizes gender equality and the unique health needs of girls and women, including their sexual and reproductive health and rights.

This webinar will showcase global and national efforts to prioritize gender equality and girls and women’s health and rights in UHC policy and decision-making. Advocates will share strategies, messaging, and key moments to help stakeholders from around the world connect to and drive forward a UHC movement that meets the needs and realities of girls and women.
