From the halls of the United Nations to the snowy streets of Davos to board rooms around the world, Women Deliver makes it our business to ensure girls and women are front and center in the agendas and prioritized in the outcomes.

And this week is no different as I head to the World Health Assembly (WHA). Every May, Ministers, policy makers, and civil society organizations convene in Geneva to discuss the most critical health issues facing the global community. It is an important opportunity to accelerate progress toward solutions that help to save lives and drive development.

As always, Women Deliver will be there giving you the inside scoop and advocating for political, financial, and programmatic investments in girls and women. Whether talking about climate change, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), or nutrition we will be there applying a gender lens to the discussion.

Throughout the week, the Women Deliver team and I will attend a number of events and raise our voices to advance gender equality and the health, rights, and wellbeing of girls and women. If you aren’t able to join the events in person, I encourage you to join the conversation on Twitter by following @WomenDeliver.

With just over 1 year until the Women Deliver 2019 Conference in Vancouver (380 days to be exact – but who’s counting?!) now is the time to show the power of advocacy to change the world for girls and women.

Hope to see you at WHA!

Katja Iversen,
President/CEO, Women Deliver
