Pride Foundation Scholarships
Pride Foundation- LGBTQ Community Foundation has opened up registration for their scholarships.

These scholarships are awarded to support the educational pursuits of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and straight-ally students. There are 50 different types of scholarships with awards up to $20,000, but only one web-based application for students to complete!

Boating Safety Video Contest
Capture the Kids Don’t Float message through the lens of a camera and create a video that will inspire Alaskans to wear a life jacket and boat safely. 

Video entries should support the "Kids Don’t Float" objectives of educating Alaskans about the dangers of Alaska’s cold water and the importance of always wearing a life jacket when boating. Create a video that is educational, meaningful, and reflects the "Kids Don’t Float" message.

The winning entry will be televised during boating safety week in March, 2016.

The deadline to submit a video is November 30.

2016 Subsistance Art Contest
The Federal Subsistence Management Program is sponsoring its annual art contest for all students in Alaska grades K-12. This year the theme for the art contest is "fish and shellfish." The winner’s artwork will be published on the cover of the Subsistence Management Regulations for the Harvest of Wildlife on Federal Public Lands in Alaska book. The art contest offers an exciting opportunity for young individuals to express their talent and creativity while supporting the value of subsistence in their lives. The books are distributed statewide.

The deadline to submit your art work is December 1.

NOAA Marine Debris Art Contest
Help the NOAA Marine Debris Program raise awareness about marine debris! Use your artistic skills to answer the following:
  • How does marine debris impact the oceans and Great Lakes?
  • What are you doing to help prevent marine debris?
All students in grades K-8 from all U.S. states or territories enrolled in recognized public, private, or home schools are eligible to participate. Entries must be postmarked by Monday, November 30th.

Winning entries will be featured in the 2017 Marine Debris Calendar.

BBB Students of Integrity Scholarship
Better Business Bureau Foundation offers the Students of Integrity Scholarship to recognize high school seniors who personify high ethics, as demonstrated through leadership, community service, overall personal integrity and academic accomplishments.

A scholarship of $10,000 will be awarded to the winning application submitted by students residing in Alaska, Oregon or Western Washington. High school seniors from across the Northwest are encouraged to apply by creating a 90-second video that demonstrates how BBB helps people become smart consumers. 

The deadline to submit your video is February 14, 2016.

AT&T Internet & Education Scholarship
Create an original infographic showing how Apps are helping students learn in unique ways outside of traditional classroom settings. Make sure your infographic is original and factual (and cite your sources). Most importantly make your infographic engaging and as fun as possible.

Winners will receive a one-time $1,000 scholarship to be applied to qualified expenses for the 2016-2017 academic year.

Submit your infographic by June 14, 2016.

Each year, more than 150 youth are nominated for the Spirit of Youth Award.  Nominations are made by anyone who wishes to recognize a hard-working, inspiring teenager or youth group in one of 11 award categories.  

Spirit of Youth is governed by a board of directors and the Teen Advisory Council.
