Gallery Calapooia’s second community-wide art show, The Big Show of Little Art, will be on display Jan. 29 to Feb. 23.
The show celebrates the art work of 210 artists of all ages from 16 mid-valley communities including Adair Village, Albany, Brownsville, Crabtree, Corvallis, Lebanon, Philomath, Shedd, Tangent, Scio, Monroe, Sweet Home, as well as Marcola, Happy Valley, Beaverton and Salem.

In addition to the 124 entries from artists in the area, the gallery received 86 student entries from these schools: Albany Options School, Timber Ridge, West Albany High School, and Memorial Middle School. A grant from the Linn County Cultural Coalition made it possible for Gallery Calapooia to provide canvases to students in schools so they could have this opportunity.
All the work is 8x8 inches in size and includes a wide variety of media: acrylics, watercolors, oils, mixed media, calligraphy, sculpture, photography, pencil, clay, encaustic, scratchboard, fused glass, wood, wire and fiber art.
First Friday Reception February 1st, 6:00 - 8:00pm
An artist’s reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, will include the art work of the 20 member artists of Gallery Calapooia as well as The Big Show of Little Art. Cookies and punch will be served.
