Sustainable Beauty Products

I've always loved makeup. At age 4, I constantly begged my grandmother to try on her Clinique lipstick. I was obsessed with LipSmackers in elementary school, and in high school, I was the official makeup guru. But as I got older, I realized the makeup products I used to make myself gorgeous actually did me more harm than good. I didn't want to give up my makeup, but I struggled to use products I knew were harmful. But then my mom, a licensed massage therapist, introduced me to the world of natural beauty.

Why Pride Matters For All of Us

I am a straight girl. I was boy-crazy from the beginning; my first crush was in preschool, on a boy who grabbed my hand in the Halloween bounce house. Through the years, I've openly expressed interest in dozens of guys, both celebrity and real-life. I'm not a fan of PDA, but kissing a boyfriend on the cheek or holding hands in public is no big deal to me. It wasn't until late high school that I realized what I'd been taking for granted was actually a privilege. A privilege many people don't have.
