Dear fellow paper lover,

I'm offering several upcoming workshops in and around Colorado (plus one in Salt Lake City) and wanted to make sure that you know about them! Click on the links below to register.

Paper Weaving, March 7th & 8th, Lafayette

Experiment with paper crumpling, varying warp & weft lines, and cutting tiny windows to expose paper underneath; explore book structures, lantern forms and woven hinges. Each participant will create three or four pieces of art featuring variations on paper weaving and woven paper hinges.

Experimental Papermaking, Mar 20th & 21st, Salt Lake City

Handmade paper is a wonderful, lightweight material perfect for creating low relief and three-dimensional objects. Experiment with thread, wire and other materials to craft unique paper objects to take home.

On my way home from SLC, I'm stopping for a one-day workshop in Grand Junction:

Innovative Paper Light Catchers, March 23rd. Grand Junction

Create a set of three light catchers that show off the beauty of paper through illumination. We’ll make origami window stars, woven luminaria and an envelope folding screen that can be displayed as a lantern, a mini folding screen or a window hanging.

Paper Possibilities, April 18th & 19th, Durango

Turn flat sheets of paper into sculptural forms – the possibilities are endless! Participants will create a sampling of objects that expand and collapse, open and close, fold and unfold. Come explore the creation of multi-paneled structures that can turn into books, tubes, tunnels, lanterns and more.

Playing With Paper & Collapsible Inflatable Paper, May 2nd & 3rd, Boulder

Join me for two separate one-day workshops at Two Hands Paperie or sign up for both! We'll be playing with paper in a variety of ways each day.

And last but not least, I host an annual retreat in my studio. The retreat is half full, so sign up soon if you are interested!

Red Cliff Paper Retreat, September 11-13, Red Cliff

You are invited to my studio in the heart of the Rocky Mountains to cut, fold, layer, collage, weave, glue and make paper as you explore its potential in two and three dimensions. This year’s retreat has a the me: Paper Panels. We will focus on panel structures including innovative book structures, folding screens,  and lantern panels. Papermaking techniques will include stenciling and watermarking on flat sheets and working sculpturally with abaca.

Grab a spot in one of these workshops, and feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions. I hope to see you soon!
