Healthy Living Hero:  Smiling Mind

The science is in.  Mindfulness meditation helps combat stress, improves focus and increases resilience. Brain imaging has also shown that meditation even changes the brain, thereby reducing our stress response.

Smiling Mind is a not-for profit organisation that works to make mindfulness meditation accessible to all by providing a range of free online mindfulness programs through their website and app.  Designed to assist people in dealing with the pressure, stress and challenges of daily life, Smiling Mind offers a range of beginners programs from 2mins to 40mins for children, adolescents and adults.

Click here to find out more about Smiling Mind.  You can also support Smiling Mind by entering a raffle at the upcoming Parklust Health & Wellbeing Day on 12 March at Queens Park (see below for more details).

If an online program or app is not for you, no problemo, click here to find a local, free meditation class (click on meditation and wellbeing).
