Spices For Christmas
Yogaveda stocks a range of organic spices to add some zest to your Christmas cuisine.
We stock all organic;
Aloe Vera is a super summer cooling and cleansing tonic. Its anti-inflammatory properties help alleviate heartburn, hyper-acidity and inflamed GI tract membranes e.g. IBS, leaky gut etc.
It is also a tonic for the liver and contains a large variety of vitamins and essential nutrients for the body. We stock Forever Living Aloe Vera because of high potency and purity.
Coconut Oil is the perfect oil for summer due to its cooling properties. It has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties, improves digestion and reduces stomach ulcers and ulcerative colitis. Also ideal to apply to skin after sun exposure or can be used as a cooling massage oil.
We stock Niulife Virgin Coconut Oil as it is certified Organic and fresh from the Pacific Islands. It is also cold pressed and unrefined.
Cooling Rosewater refreshes, hydrates and moisturises the skin. It has anti-bacterial properties and treats acne, dermatitis and excema.
Rosewater can also be infused into food and drink as it will calm and soothe frazzled nerves in the summer heat.
Yogaveda stocks bottles of Rosewater.
SUMMERTIME SOOTHING TIPS
Summer is here and we welcome the expansive energy this brings, the longer days, the warmth of the sun and the lightness of being. To embrace summer, our habits, routines and dietary choices should harmonise with the new season.
Summer Pitta Season
The intense summer heat and the long bright sunny days are characteristic of the Pitta element that are intensified at this time, especially here in our harsh West Australian environment. Additionally we have the drying element of Vata due to the hot, dry easterly winds blowing in from the desert.
Spend time in nature, especially cooling environments; oceans, rivers, lakes, forest and gardens.
Self-massage with cooling Coconut Oil or Yogaveda's Calm & Cool Body Oil to nourish the skin during our dry summer.
Take time for rest and relaxation; yoga, meditation and listening to calming music.
Reduce stress and an over stimulated mind by sleeping on your right side as this will activate the lunar pathway in the left nostril which has a calming and cooling affect.
If you are feeling out of balance over the summer months contact us for an Ayurvedic consultation.
A personalised approach to proactively manage your individual body type and any imbalances.
