A little bit about The Color Run (from the web site):

The Color Run was founded in March of 2011 as an event to promote healthiness and happiness by bringing the community together to participate in the “Happiest 5k on the Planet”.

Less about your 10-minute-mile and more about having the time of your life, The Color Run is a five-kilometer, un-timed race in which thousands of participants, or “Color Runners”, are doused from head to toe in different colors at each kilometer. With only two rules, the idea is easy to follow:

  1. Wear white at the starting line
  2. Finish plastered in color!

The fun continues after Color Runners complete the race with an unforgettable Finish Festival. This larger than life party is equipped with music, dancing and massive color throws, which create millions of vivid color combinations. Trust us, this is the best post-5k party on the planet!

While The color Run is a for profit event, they do donate to charity.  The Boise Color Run will benefit the Girl Scouts of Silver Sage.

Year End Camping Trip

The Second Annual Sage Family Camping Trip was a great success. The weather was perfect. We had about 25 families participate. Most stayed two nights, and a few families chose to stay one night only. Both kids and parents enjoyed the hot springs. Kids enjoyed the permanent "recess" time in the woods, while the parents spent time getting to know one another. Saturday night we had a potluck with lot's of super yummy food. We are in the very beginning stages of planning the trip for next year. If you have any ideas of places to go, or things to do, don't hesitate to contact us.

Book Club for students grade 1 to 6.

We will meet every other Wednesday from 3:45pm  to 4:30pm at Sage Parkcenter.

At each meeting we will have two books to choose from for reading and discussion during the next meeting. We will play games and have fun and we will participate in the reading program from the Boise Public Library.

Come to our first meeting  on Wednesday June 11 at 3:45 and get to know the other kids and choose our books.

PTO Status Update

The By Laws are complete and the new Board is in place!  We have had a few questions regarding elections, specifically what happened to them.  In short, the number of people nominated equaled the desired number of board members making elections unnecessary.

The new board was introduced at the previous SCN meeting, but if you were unable to attend, they can be found on the Network web site, here.

The task force that has been working on establishing the PTO is now shifting gears and working on strategic planning for the network, look for more details on that process and opportunities to be part of the effort soon.

Also, look for the calendar of events we will be handing out at the picnic tomorrow (June 5th).  We have events planned all summer long that you won't want to miss!
