HIGHLIGHTS FROM TERM 2

BIGGEST MORNING TEA
Thank you so much to everyone who attended GEALC’s Biggest Morning Tea on 26 May. We had 40 participants face to face in our kitchen and garden areas including Maria Peters, the Chairperson of the Adult Community & Further Education Board and Debbie Taylor-Haynes, the Candidate for Bentleigh. We raised over $1370 for cancer research and also acknowledged our volunteers and the significant contribution they make to our Centre. Special thanks to Bakers Delight and Molly Dene Bakehouse in Bentleigh.

NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK
GEALC is extremely fortunate to receive such tremendous support from its volunteers. 16 to 22 May was National Volunteer Week and GEALC acknowledged (at its Biggest Morning Tea) the significant contribution our wonderful volunteers make to our Centre. Thank you to ALL our volunteers for your commitment and invaluable support!

NEIGHBOURHOOD HOUSE WEEK  9-15 May
GEALC offered a range of activities during Neighbourhood House Week….. it was wonderful to see how much our students love being part of the GEALC family.
On Wednesday 11 May, students gathered to celebrate with a fun Afternoon High Tea. As students enjoyed the festivities, they wrote down why they love attending GEALC. The responses from our students showed an overwhelming sense of community, family, friendship, fun and learning. To quote one student, “GEALC has created a bridge for me to connect with my new life in Australia".
