The Utah SPJ Journalism contest is open for entries!
The Utah SPJ Headliners contest is now OPEN, recognizing the best reporting, photography, videography, design and more from journalists across the state. The contest entry deadline is April 30 at 11:59 pm.
Sorry we’ve gotten to a late start this year, but like you, we’ve still been recovering from 2020. Speaking of which, we are announcing the creation of multiple new contest categories focused specifically on the important coverage done last year on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Entries in all categories, including COVID-19 coverage, must be work published or aired during 2020.
Go to contest.utahspj.com to review our contest categories and rules, create an entrant account and start submitting your best work. Note: previous accounts do not carry over, a new entrant account is required each year.
Contest entries are $10 for SPJ members and students, and $15 for non-members. Honors nominations — including our Sunshine and Black Hole awards — are FREE. To join SPJ and the Utah Headliners chapter, go to spj.org/join.
We are also pushing our awards banquet back this year to August 5, 2021, in hopes that we can safely meet and celebrate in person together again.
