Until a state law that passed on Dec. 31, 2020, Michigan veterinarians were not legally permitted to consult with their clients about the use of hemp-derived products, such as cannabidiol (CBD), for their pets. "We were in a murky legal state," said Dr. Steven McBride, "because we weren't technically allowed to discuss CBD with our clients. So if they wanted to try it for their pets, they felt they had to do it without us knowing."

Meet the Staff!

This month we are featuring Baylie, a Client Care Assistant. Baylie has been with us at CHFA/BVAC for a year. She loves the animals and the “amazing” people at her job. When’s she not here at the clinic, you’ll find her indulging her passions for horseback riding and photography. At home Baylie has some unique pets: Scout, a 14-year-old pinto; Porter, a Basset Hound puppy; Mickey, a 5-year-old Chocolate Lab; Moose, 10-year-old German Shorthair Pointer; and two 5-year-old mini donkeys, Sully and Kazoo!
