Recap of the International Quilt Market

Every year, thousands of quilters, shop owners, pattern designers and companies like us go to Houston, TX for Quilt Market. It is an amazing and overwhelming experience. We leave exhausted and full of inspiration and this year was no exception.

The show floor is huge!
Ladies in the boothWe all had a great time in the Sulky booth.
We got to cut up with some great friends.
thread paintingthread painting classWe got to teach some thread painting to some amazing people. One of the guys in our class had never used a regular sewing machine before and he did a great job. We also had a husband and wife team in the class. They were very competitive with each other!

We loved helping people pick out threads to match their fabric.

Jason and FredDon't worry, we carved out a little time for some fun too. This is Sulky President Jason Prater and Sulky Founder Fred Drexler enjoying some amazing ice cream at Chocolate Wasted Ice Cream Shop!
Amy Barickman
We had a wonderful response to the Crossroads by Amy Barickman Thread Collections at Quilt Market and Festival. We have loved Amy and her Indygo Junction patterns for years and are thrilled to be able to offer these 12 wt. Cotton Collections.
Crossroads Thread Collections
There are 16 collections in all which have been hand selected by Amy herself to coordinate perfectly with her Crossroads Denim fabric line.
Crossroads Denim and Thread
Check out all the collections on our website and be on the lookout for new patterns and ideas using both the Crossroads Denim and the Crossroads Threads!

Diane Gloystein, a National Educator for Sulky, went to Quilt Market and Festival and did a series about it on her blog. It has some great pictures and insight into what it's like to go to "The Greatest Quilt Show on Earth," as she calls it. Check out her blog here. I am going to do some blog posts about Quilt Market soon so be sure to keep your eyes open for that too!
