One of the very special things about GMM is our capacity to share with each other and building connections. As an individual, we all have a voice and using it is empowering, through photos or written word. As a collective, we have the ability to amplify each other's voices, lean on each other, and break down barriers. We're sharing a very poignant quote from Michelle Obama about the power of being heard and hearing others. Have a great weekend everyone!

Yours always,

Recap: GMM at PRISM

More than 400 people attended last week's Boston Center for the Arts PRISM dance party and we raised over $20,000 for the BCA's artistic programs. We must have made thousands of photographs and made fashion photography "a performance and a spectator sport" through this Work of Art / Piece of Work project. Special thanks to everyone who made it happen and those who came to support! Check our Instagram for more photos from the event.

Recap: Social Mixer Part II

Last Sunday, we hung out at our favorite coffee house Brew'd Awakening Coffeehaus to wind down our week. We spent 3 hours talking, making gimp bracelets, and sipping on special cocktails. Special thanks to Brew'd for hosting us and everyone who came! We love you!

Project Feature: @letmewriteyouapoem

Let me write you a poem began after GMM member Princess (@softestglow) got robbed while having dinner in Boston's Chinatown. Her favorite tote bag was stolen, along with her important belongings which included a notebook full of poetry and undigitized designs and a shattered, old iPad mini that she shared with her son. As an attempt to raise funds to replace her son's tablet, she began to accept poetry commissions. It took off. A hundred poems later, and here we are... Healing the community and keeping the art of storytelling alive, one poem at a time.
