Spotlight on InfoGroup Business Data

UVA Library currently has a trial for InfoGroup Business data loaded in the easy-to-use Data-Planet Statistical Datasets platform. This platform offers a simple way to pull statistics about industries and companies, including company count, revenues, employee count, and market share. The trial for InfoGroup Business data within Data-Planet ends December 10. (Access to the general Data-Planet platform will remain after the trial.) Questions or comments? Contact data@virginia.edu. November R Users Group

Our next UVa R User Group is November 30 from 5:30-7:00PM at the Center for Open Science (in the Omni Hotel on Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall)! Michele Claibourn, a political scientist and Director of Research Data Services in the University of Virginia Library, will be talking about her research, text analysis of the 2016 presidential campaign debates (and other campaign communications). Staff from COS will demonstrate the osfr package, an API client that enables API access to the Open Science Framework through R.

Funding Discovery Resources

Did you know UVA now has access to two funding discovery tools, Pivot and GrantForward?

The Vice President for Research Office has licensed these, and we've been working with them to help launch and support their use. All faculty, staff, and students have access and can set up accounts and queries to send along new opportunities in line with their research interests.
