Now Hiring Graduate StatLab Associates

The UVA Library’s Research Data Services is seeking multiple StatLab Graduate Associates for the 2021-2022 academic year. Graduate students will deepen their knowledge of statistics and data analysis by

  • helping students, faculty and staff with statistical and data wrangling questions
  • writing online instructional materials and articles as part of our StatLab blog,
  • working on data science projects,
  • supporting data workshops and contributing to overall technical and administrative support,

Graduate students will be paid hourly at $20/hour for up to 10 hours a week for 15 weeks each semester. More information about the positions is available on our webpage. Or go directly to Workday to apply (Posting R0022871). Please apply by April 30 for full consideration

Spring Workshops Series

The final week of our data and computing workshops for the semester is next week (https://cal.lib.virginia.edu/calendar/events?cid=4299&t=g).

Workshops include:

  • Our R series: our second round of Introductory Statistics with R (4/9)
  • Data Visualization with Tableau: our second round of Intermediate Visualizations (4/9)
  • The fourth and final in our Data Management Forum series, this one focused on best practices around data sharing  (4/7)
  • Our partners in Research Computing are also offering their final workshop of the semester: R with MPI (Message Passing Interface) for running code across multiple machines
