ASA DataFestTM is coming to UVA!

Over the weekend of March 18-20, student teams can compete in a data analysis challenge, working on a surprise data set. At the end of the weekend, teams will present their insights to a panel of judges, with prizes for Best Insight, Best Visualization, and Best Use of External Data.

DataFest is open to all University of Virginia students from any field or major. Undergraduates can sign up to compete in teams of 2-5; graduate students can sign up to compete in teams or volunteer 2 hours of their time as a consultant and mentor. Even faculty and staff can get involved as VIP consultants! All the information about UVA DataFest — logistics, registering a team, volunteering as a consultant, and more -- can be found on our webpage

ASA DataFests have been occurring at universities around the country since 2011; the inaugural UVA DataFest is co-sponsored by the Library's Research Data Services, the Quantitative Collaborative, the Statistics Department, the Data Science Institute, the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, the A&S Learning, Design, and Technology office, and the Vice President for Information Technology's office.
