Watch This Space

We are looking for performers for our South West contemporary dance platform. Now in its 7th year, Watch This Space offers a regional platform for home grown talent. If you have a piece you would like to share you have until the 1st December to apply.
U.Dance SW Regional
As the regional partner working with Youth Dance England, Dance in Devon are hosting a regional platform at Exeter Northcott in Spring 2015 (date tbc). Those who take part in the U.Dance regional will have the chance to be selected for the U.Dance National in Plymouth between 22-25th July 2015. We are looking for youth dance companies in the South West, performers aged 11 – 19 years old, and inclusive or integrated groups are especially welcome (ages 11 – 24 years old). You have until the 19th December to apply.
Dance in Devon are looking for an Executive Director
We are looking for someone who can bring innovation, energy and passion to dance development in Devon. Creative Conversation with Wayne McGregor CBE
4th December, 7-8.15pm, Dartington SPACE, Totnes
Wayne McGregor will hold the final Creative Conversation of 2014, in discussion with Gay Watson. Hear directly from Wayne about his approach to working with scientific collaborators and the process behind his craft. This is a free event.
STEAM: Dawlish Local Line
5th December, 4.30pm
Meet outside Dawlish Train Station. Free.
As part of arts wave devon, Dance in Devon has been working with Dawlish to create Dawlish Journeys, a major new arts project that has been designed with and for the community. Join us to celebrate with a parkour performance from The Urban Playground Team who have been working with The Dawlish Dancers and students from local schools. As part of the performance there will also be a lantern parade with local primary schools and home educated young people. We will also launch an art and poetry exhibition, and showcase further dance performances from local schools between 6-7pm at The Strand Centre. This event is part of the Christmas lights switch on.
The Dance in Devon team are off to People Dancing International Conference in Cardiff with The Foundation for Community Dance. Our Silver Dancers project will be one of the featured case studies from Pavilion Dance South West on Friday’s session on Older People Dancing. We look forward to seeing some of you there.
