We are excited to be working with internationally acclaimed Shobana Jeyasingh Dance to offer young people a chance to work with a company member over an intensive weekend. The workshops will explore choreographic ideas for making new work and be an insight into the way the company create their adventurous and experimental work.
The weekend is suitable for young people aged 11-19 (or 25 if disabled) with some experience and a commitment to dance. It will be held at Exeter University between 10:00 – 4:00pm on Saturday 9th / Sunday 10th May.  To apply download the application form via this link and send it to administrator@danceindevon.org.uk by 4:00pm on Wednesday 29th April 2015.

U.Dance South West Regional
On Sunday 19th April, Dance in Devon presented the South West Regional Platform for U.Dance 2015. We were joined by fourteen youth dance companies from across the South West at the University of Exeter for a day of dance activities, followed by the U.Dance showcase performance at the Northcott Theatre. Throughout the day, dancers took part in contemporary dance workshops with Richard Chappell and CheapDateDance, an arts wave devon POP-Up workshop with Plymouth company Street Factory and joined in discussion at a dance focused careers roadshow from Pavilion Dance South West. It was wonderful to be surrounded by so many young people and to see their enthusiasm and energy for dance.
We are extremely pleased to announce the three groups selected to take part in the U.Dance National Platform based in Plymouth are: RISE Youth Dance, Wheelfever Projects and Swindon Youth Dance Company
