Stepping Out Dance Initiative, 
A Youth Dance Taster Session and Best Foot Forward Update hosted by Dance In Devon

Youth Moves Torbay
Youth Moves Torbay is a new youth dance group for 12-17 year olds at South Devon College. FREE TASTER SESSION on Wednesday 22nd June from 5-8pm. This session will include hip hop, breakdance, contemporary dance, and improvisation. For more details, please see the 'What's On' Page of our website. 

Best Foot Forward

Stepping Out
Dance in Devon alongside partners Drink Wise Age Well  are about start  across four areas in Devon: Ivybridge, Tavistock, Okehampton and Dartmouth. This new project offers social dance for the over 50's with the aim of engaging and keeping people physically active within a fun and social environment.  Please see the 'Projects' page of our website or contact our project manager by emailing:

State Of Emergency Residency at Dartington
State of Emergency go into production at the end of May for their international show ‘Where Is Home?’ featuring an amazing cast of South African and UK performers. The company is in residence at Dartington for six weeks, in partnership with Dartington Arts and Dance In Devon. The first leg of the tour is this October, with nine dates across the UK. Life Circles 
Life Circles is a nationally acclaimed arts project, supporting the health and creativity of older people through inspirational, movement led, arts activities. Over the last two years, 45 care settings in Somerset and Devon have been offered inspiring Life Circles sessions that use movement, poetry, music, memories and imaginative leaps to engage,transport and enhance the lives of older people. Diverse Futures | Feedback

Tea Dances with a Twist | Crowdfunding
Tea Dances with a Twist! will be a monthly intergenerational social event (18th June, 16th July and 13th August) that will take place at Plymouth Guildhall, targeting the ageing population in Plymouth. Help Plymouth Dance and Miss Ivy Events make this happen by donating to their crowdfunding appeal.

Holistic Studies in Human Anatomy from an Experiential Perspective | Buckfastleigh Town Hall, Buckfastleigh
An Introduction to the practice of experiential anatomy followed by information and discussion on course content, application process and certification. This taster workshop is free.

Simon Birch Dance | Shoreline  
Shoreline is a promenade performance exploring our connection with the sea. It is amphibious; danced in the water, as well as on the sand and rocks, to live choral music.

Functional Fitness MOT | Zest, Physiotherapy For Life
The Functional Fitness MOT is a series of free events for people over 60 taking place in Totnes and Dartington in May and June 2016. The events aim to increase activity levels of our local older population and to promote active ageing. You can also apply to be included in a directory of practitioners who work with this specific age group.  

Open Artist Call for Bournemouth Arts by the Sea

Bournemouth Arts by the Sea festival is inviting artists working across a range of disciplines to apply to create a new commission for the event. Successful artist applicants will receive funding, publicity around their commission and support from the festival’s production team to realise their idea. Deadline for submissions is the 1st June. 

Life Circles | National Training Day
An inspirational day for activity co-ordinators and carers exploring how the content of the Life Circles programme, especially movement and dance activities, can support the quality care of our frail and elderly living in care settings.

Movement in Nature Project | Dartington

3 dancers sought to be involved in a local project investigating movement and nature, with a link to education. Four sessions from Tues 14th June 12noon - 2pm, followed by an informal sharing of work on 12th July 2pm-3pm within a school setting.

Joie de Vivre Short Dance Film Competition

Pavilion Dance South West are pleased to announce that The Joie de Vivre Short Film Competition 2016 is open for submissions and looking for dance films. The deadline for submissions is the 21st June. 

Artswork- Behaviour Management & Youth Arts Training
This one day course looks at managing challenging behaviour within youth groups and projects and looks at how you can create a positive environment from the offset, and get the most out of your young people! The course will take place on the 24th June from 10am-4.15pm, at Bristol Tobacco Factory. For more information and bookings, please go to the 'Opportunities' page on our website.

Call out For Youth companies and groups for a performance
Youth dance companies/groups or individuals are wanted to perform alongside company b at their summer platform at the Barbican Theatre on either Tuesday 12th July or Wednesday 13th of July.

Dance Diploma at South Devon College
This exciting & specialist course  is designed for students who would like to perform or teach dance.

Freefall Dance Summer Intensive  (Pictured) 
Join Freefall for 2 days of vigorous physical training of the highest quality on the 6th & 7th August. Designed to inspire and challenge aspiring dancers (16+) through to practicing professionals. This intensive will include classes from guest artists such as Nikki O' Hara and Luke Birch. 

National Youth Dance Company | Experience Workshops
The NYDC Experience Workshops offer an opportunity to enjoy a workshop day which will be engaging, exciting and informative about dance and dance training. The workshops can also be used to find out more information about the company and experience what it’s like to be part of NYDC. 

SALT Dance Camp Residencies
This is the first ever SALT Dance Camp- two residencies focused on the making of outdoor work led by Luca Silvestrini & and Rosemary Lee at Hay Studio in Cornwall. Both residencies will take place in July. 

Call out for Dance Artists for Dance Films
Tip Top Top Tips is all about sharing things that support our wellbeing by working together to make a series of creative dance films. I Am An Egg Dance Company for adults with mental health needs is opening to new members this Spring. The company is lead by Viv Gordon from Mean Feet Dance. 

Watkins Summer Residency 2016 
This residency will take place from 1st - 4th August and is suitable for for ages 14+. This is an opportunity for young developing dancers to train intensively in different dance styles at the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, based near Twickenham.
