Dance Card, Dance In Time,
All Aboard & Young Creatives

Hello again!
After taking an extended summer break DANNI is back with info on Dance in Devon’s projects, opportunities and other interesting stuff taking place in the region. We have a busy November ahead with Dance in Time: this year including an intergenerational workshop with the brilliant Emilyn Claid on Saturday 26th and flamenco, aerial and afro-contemporary on the Sunday. We are hosting dance artists through our Space to Play scheme in the beautiful studios at Dartington. We are also looking forward to welcoming this year’s Young Choreographers South West to spend the weekend with the amazing Alleyne Dance (Akhram Khan Company and others) and Theo Clinkard. This Autumn we have a Dance Card deadline on 1 December with up to £250 available to support your professional development. Talking of CPD, we plan to host some Child Protection and First Aid training for local artists and practitioners and we will share details very soon.

We also look forward to starting our work with disabled and non-disabled children in Barnstaple, Exeter and Torbay with our new project All Aboard! with support from The Ragdoll Foundation and Children in Need and on a new Falls Prevention project in Torbay.

On a more personal note, I have been spending a lot of time fundraising for our programmes since the last newsletter and I hope that I can soon share how our next phase of work will pan out. I am very lucky to be part of the Clore Leadership Programme this year and so there will be some time in the new year that I will be away on training and secondment. I will stay very connected to the work here and will be happy to share some of my new experiences a bit further along the line…

Please stay in touch and let us know about your projects and plans. You are very welcome to arrange to come in and talk through your ideas and your practice. I’m always happy to hear from you.

All the best,
Sue
