The first classes have been announced and registration is open!

You are receiving this email because you ether subscribed online or signed up with us at one of the numerous live demonstrations we've been doing this past year around the Austin, San Marcos and TX Hill Country area.

The first classes have been announced and registration is open!

July will be the soft launch of the school. We will still be in construction, remodeling, building mode but want to offer a few classes to work the bugs out before our grand opening in August. What this means for you is the opportunity to get a huge discount on the courses and a smaller class size! Talk about win win.

August will have limited enrollment since we will likely be building the last few benches, appliances and accessories. So more one on one instruction for those enrolled.

The cost of courses are based on $12.50 and hour for the classes plus a materials fee which will vary. A deposit of the materials fee will hold your spot with the balance due at the beginning of the first class. This is because materials are generally purchased ahead of time.

Free Events starting in August.

Just announced are two experiments in woodworking events that will begin in August. We'll have a "Date Night" the first Friday of every month and a "Woodwright Night" the second Saturday of each month. Please check out our course descriptions for all the details. I do believe it's going to be fun!

wortheffort school build week 2

Please check out the course description page at wortheffort.com for Christopher Schwarz's events which will include a 2 day class making a Dutch Tool Chest and a free Saturday evening get together in November 2013.

Tool Swap Campaign

Tool Swap

The school is in desperate need of planes, saws and braces: Wortheffort is focusing on teaching new woodworkers. Teaching classes that'll give a taste of this wonderful craft. In order to do so I feel it incredibly important to be able to loan out a small set of handtools so that between classes even those who don't own tools can get some practice homework done. Also this will enable us to finish really cool projects in a months time. Take a class, learn all about making table legs, make one then... homework is to make the other three.

We are currently in a mad scramble to collect enough tools so that we can have a class set for the school and 24 sets to loan out. So we have a tool swap crowd funding campaign going on our website. If you have an old plane or saw that's extra we'd definitely put it to good use and also pay you some really cool rewards! So visit our website for all the details.
