We've finally found a woodworking school location and are opening soon!

You are receiving this email because you ether subscribed online or signed up with us at one of the numerous live demonstrations we've been doing this past year around the Austin, San Marcos and TX Hill Country area.

We've finally found a location for our Woodworking School/Gallery.

It'll be right off the square in San Marcos TX which is only about 30 minutes from Austin and a little more from San Antonio. It's taken this long because we were looking for just the right location that had our needs in atmosphere, space, parking, zoning and price. Being walking distance to restaurants, bars, shopping, the university, free entertainment and such the San Marcos Courthouse Square will be perfect.

We could use your help spreading the word about our fundraisers.

Awesome 'Rewards'!Since this is an extreme shoestring operation, just my retirement and savings (banks don't really do 'start-up' loans for those who haven't been operating for 6 months), I've got two crowd funding campaigns going that will help the launch. The first is a Kickstarter campaign to pay for the AV equipment the school will need to continue producing educational material on YouTube. The second is just among the woodworking community. It's a tool swap so that we can collect enough basic sets of hand tools to provide loaner sets for students taking our classes.

Grand Opening in August (with a soft opening in July)

Please check out our website (wortheffort.com) for a list of upcoming classes and the schedule. We'll have courses for homeschool groups, after school programs, college classes, specialty events and evening classes for adults or special subjects.

KickStarter

Fundraising for AV Equipment:
I've been asked 'what is Kickstarter?' Officially it is an all or nothing crowdsourcing campaign that is an alternative for businesses seeking startup capital. All or nothing means if we don't reach our goals no donators are charged a donat...ion. In reality it is a marketing method to sell our products. The hook is that the consumer learns where the proceeds of the sale are destinedand the seller doesn't have build inventory. So eliminates waste, increases efficiency, can lower cost and provides an added altruistic bonus to the consumer.

In our campaign our 'rewards' (what we're selling) are bowls, boxes, pens, bottle stoppers, door stoppers and an educational woodworking DVD. The proceeds of theses sales are going toward purchasing Audio Video equipment for the school. So 'sponsors' receive really well priced woodworking merchandise and also know that they are purchasing equipment that will be used for years to help educate students.

So please tell all your friends, we've got some great products available!
Tool Swap Campaign

Tool Swap

The school is in desperate need of planes, saws and braces: Wortheffort is focusing on teaching new woodworkers. Teaching classes that'll give a taste of this wonderful craft. In order to do so I feel it incredibly important to be able to loan out a small set of handtools so that between classes even those who don't own tools can get some practice homework done. Also this will enable us to finish really cool projects in a months time. Take a class, learn all about making table legs, make one then... homework is to make the other three.

We are currently in a mad scramble to collect enough tools so that we can have a class set for the school and 24 sets to loan out. So we have a tool swap crowd funding campaign going on our website. If you have an old plane or saw that's extra we'd definitely put it to good use and also pay you some really cool rewards! So visit our website for all the details.
