Matthews Funeral Home and Cremation Service
Date Established: June 2000
Number of Employees: 19
Product/Service: Funeral Home/Crematory
Website: www.matthewsfuneralhome.comFacebook: @matthewsfuneralhome
The funeral home currently employs six Licensed Funeral Directors/Embalmers, four Licensed Apprentices and a receptionist, as well as eight part time staff members to work funerals. Every licensed staff member is a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma.
As a locally owned and operated business, the staff does everything associated with the business in house. Staff members see the families they work with in the community and personally know most of them. The owners are very active in Edmond as members of civic clubs and volunteer organizations and feel it is their obligation to give back to the community they serve.
The owners are planning for the future with the purchase of approximately 3.6 acres to the north of the funeral home's current property. In addition, Randy and Barbara Matthews' two sons recently began working at the funeral home and plan to continue the family business. While they plan for the future, the owners' constant goal is to take care of the families that have entrusted Matthews Funeral Home and Cremation Service in the worst of times to the very best of their ability.
