Newsflash: April 2016

Dear Colleagues,

With so many opportunities to meet with our partners and supporters, spring is an exciting time for the ASC. I enjoyed seeing many friends from around the world at Seafood Expo North America in Boston last month. During our annual update meeting at the event, we were thrilled to announce the certification of the first farm in the U.S.A.  This is a wonderful achievement for the programme and a continuation of a sustained plan to expand our presence throughout North America.

The ASC has united with the MSC to create a joint Seaweed Standard. The project is currently open to public consultation and we have been gratified by the support and input of stakeholders to date. We look forward to working with many of you as we finalise this standard, which will promote the responsible production of a component integral to numerous  products many of us use everyday.

You will notice even greater collaboration between the ASC and MSC during the Brussels Seafood Expo where, for the first time, our organisations will share a booth. Please drop by to see us in Hall 7 - 1553. We will also host a joint Seafood Futures Forum on April 27. In addition to sharing market insights, the event will feature a panel discussion you won’t want to miss. Limited spaces remain, so RSVP today!

I look forward to seeing many of you in Brussels.
