President's Message

Picture of Alicia Saint, President of ICF Toronto ChapterHello ICF Toronto community!

I am honoured and excited to serve as your new President of this trailblazing, award-winning Chapter, as of March 1st, 2022. I am so grateful to my predecessor Jane Graydon for her impactful leadership over this last year, and thrilled that she will remain on the Board to support us in the “Past President” role. Thank you to the Board members who are stepping down, Barb Rosen Schreiber, Jalyn Anderson and Robin Mahadeva, for your dedication and outstanding contribution to the Board and our community.
A BIG welcome to our newest Board members, Ralph Cochrane, Jatin Sanghavi and Leslie Shank. We look forward to their fresh perspective and expertise. I look forward to working with our new 2022 Board to continue to grow our thriving Chapter. Each one of our Board members are committed, talented and passionate leaders.
Come join us for the ICF Toronto 2022 Awards Gala on March 31st. Celebrate the ICF Toronto coaches and local organizations that are accomplishing great things through coaching in our community. Join our guest speaker, Dr. Towanna Burrous, founder of CoachDiversity, and stay for the after-party!

International Coaching Week is fast approaching, if you’d like to help out, we’d love to have you!
Check out choice magazine article on ICF Toronto’s conference and don’t forget, as an ICF member you can get a subscription discount.

We are also very excited to announce a newly created Board position, Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. This person will lead a team to implement EDI committee recommendations. Through action, our vision is to create a diverse and inclusive ICF Toronto Chapter that embodies a community of belonging. Please consider volunteering for this important position.
Overshadowing all else, is the Russian military invasion of Ukraine and its implications for peace and progress in the world. As this terrible invasion has unfolded, so too has a devastating humanitarian crisis. As the world watches on TVs and smartphones, if you’re like me, you might feel rather helpless. There are many reputable organizations that are helping and asking for assistance, including some mentioned here, for your consideration:

I look forward to supporting you this year. You are always welcome to contact me or any Board member with questions and ideas. We appreciate your input and feedback!

With gratitude,

Alicia Saint
President, ICF Toronto Chapter

ICF Toronto Conference Published in choice Magazine!
Published in, and reproduced with permission from, choice, the magazine of professional coaching Volume 20, Number 1.

"The premier annual event for Canadian coaches, ICF Toronto’s conference was a huge success. Evolve 2021 brought together coaches virtually in mid-November to learn and network. With a tagline of “Coaching Moves the World,” the conference deepened participants’ learning of Eco Coaching; Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Coaching; Presence and Mindset; and Business Excellence.

Through the conference platform, Remo, participants could choose to participate in different rooms, complete with a cute little knock on the door when a participant entered a breakout room. The platform showed which participants were in a particular room, facilitating networking.

Participants appreciated connecting with friends and new colleagues and learning with them, visiting the trade show, and joining in lively discussions about speaker content and application in the Evolve Cafés. There was even musical bingo with a DJ and dancing from the comfort of your own home."

Membership Engagement

Picture of tree branch with spring budsMarch is a month of rebirth and resurgence! The winter slowly gives up its grip, making space for sunshine and warmth.

It was a celebration of 'International Women’s Day' last week. Although there is still a lot to be done to fight inequality and biases, more and more women are gaining their strength and using their voices.

It’s also time to renew your ICF Global membership! And, if you would do it before March 31, you can take advantage of the instalment payments. To use this option, please choose “Instalments” on the payment page of the online renewal application. The first instalment payment of $122.50 USD occurs immediately, and the second payment of $122.50 USD occurs automatically 60 days later.

We are always happy and excited to welcome new members into our family, but we are also very appreciative and grateful to members who have stayed loyal to us for years!

We hope that the new and very robust professional development program, EDI initiatives, volunteer opportunities, and much more - will keep creating significant value for your personal and professional growth.

With warmest wishes,

Jenny Barkan, ACC
Director of Membership and Volunteering
