How to Integrate Positive Psychology Tools and Theories into a
Coaching Session While Letting the Client Lead
with Emiliya Zhivotovskaya, MAPP, MCCow
One of the hallmarks of a master-level coach compared to an amateur is that the coach keeps the client in the seat of the expert of their life. In this scenario, the client leads, the coach follows. But what happens when the coach has a suggestion, skill, tool, or point of view? Join Master Certified Coach (MCC), Positive Psychology expert, and CEO/Founder of The Flourishing Center, Emiliya Zhivotovskaya, for a crash course on how to weave the coach's expertise into the coaching session, without throwing off the delicate balance of the coach and client being equals. Learn The Flourishing Center's approach for marrying the science of positive psychology with coaching psychology, along with the key research-based themes that we bring into coaching conversations.
About Emiliya Zhivotovskaya
Emiliya Zhivotovskaya is a leading voice in the world of positive psychology and the science of flourishing. She is the CEO and founder of The Flourishing Center, and creator of the acclaimed Certification in Applied Positive Psychology (CAPP) program that’s been offered in 13 cities across the U.S., Canada and online worldwide (www.GetCertifiedinPP.com), which has trained over 1,500 practitioners to date across 53 countries. Join myself and members of the ICF/ACMP Global task force at ICF Converge on October 26-28to continue the exploration of how Professional Coaches and Change Managers can work better together.
We are continuing the discussion started at the ACMP Global Converge conference back in June and will share the 10 competencies shared by Professional Coaches and Change Managers and the 7 “new” inflection points in the Change Management Standard, where Professional Coaches can contribute and enhance the change management process. If you coach inside organizations or are an external coach partner working with transforming organizations, please join us to contribute to the conversation. I am working with ACMP Ontario to find an opportunity to share these findings and foster more discussion together, locally. Stay tuned!
