President's Message

photo of Jane GraydonIt’s July, and it is fantastic to enjoy the summer and celebrate the lifting of many COVID restrictions. We can’t wait to see you! We have heard from many of our members, especially those from outside the GTA, that they appreciate the virtual offerings, so your Board has discussed virtual meetings being part of our future, in addition to getting together in person. Stay tuned as Ingrid Palmer and Shahab Anari have been planning some impressive programming for the fall.
Robin Mahadeva and her conference organizing team have been developing an outstanding lineup of world-class speakers who will offer incredible insights and takeaways for coaches. If you know of any potential conference sponsors, please contact Save the dates November 15-19, 2021. A link for early bird Evolve 2021 registration is coming soon!

I wanted to do a shout-out to two Board members that play vital roles for our Chapter behind the scenes. Jalyn Anderson, Secretary, with her extensive Board Governance expertise keeps us all organized – not an easy task in addition to her support of Alicia with the Corporate Outreach Portfolio. Hossam Bakir has recently taken on a Board Liaison role with our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion team, in addition to his busy role as Treasurer. A huge thanks to these, and all our Board members!

A few months ago we asked you to consider volunteering with our Chapter and now we have strong energized committees across most of our portfolios - so thank you! We have new volunteer opportunities to lead or support our digital transformation. If you have a strong technical/process background and would like to learn more about this opportunity, please let us know

ICF Toronto is a vibrant chapter because of you. We appreciate your contributions, engagement and feedback, and I look forward to continuing our journey together.

Enjoy your summer!

ICF Logo for Leveraging the Power of Coaching & Change Management to Navigate Disruption

TICF & ACMP Joint Taskforce Update

The last webinar of this four part series on “Leveraging the Power of Coaching & Change Management to Navigate Disruption” concluded on June 16th with “Coaching Change Leaders “.

The four part series was extremely successful, attracting 8,000 registrants from ICF and ACMP global communities. The highest number of participants were from ICF. Clearly, bringing Coaching and Change Management closer together is a hot topic!

Join myself and other members of the taskforce at ICF Converge from October 26-28 to continue the discussion started at the ACMP Global Converge conference back in June, about the ten shared competencies and seven key inflection points for coaches in the Change Management process. Join us to shape and contribute to the learnings and discuss opportunities to bring professional coaches and Change Management closer together.

With gratitude,

May 17 - 23, 2021

Defying Challenging Times

We did it! We defied challenging times for International Coaching Week 2021. Fourteen diverse organizations participated across the GTA. That involved forty-six ICF Toronto coaches and 150 people who experienced the power and impact of coaching.

Participants found it to be a good use of their time, and one woman said, "It was nice to have time and space to reflect and really set some goals. It also helped me review my priorities and ensure my actions are aligning with the priorities." ICF Global held over 1,200 events in twenty-seven languages and involved 35,000 participants worldwide.

Eighty-eight percent of coaches said they would like to participate again next year and over half of the participating organizations have expressed interest in Coach Connect.

Mark your calendars for International Coaching Week next year, May 16 to 22, 2022.
