Social Media Policies
The American Library Association has released new Social Media Guidelines. If your library does not have a social media policy yet, please read. Social media is a sphere in which boundaries are often tested!
The Olean Public Library recently had to deal with social media comments that were inappropriate and have resulted in real world consequences for those posting them (click below to read more). It can be difficult to know when a comment has crossed a line, and it helps to have a board-approved policy to guide the library in making decisions about what others are allowed to post on the library social media page and what is appropriate for staff to post.
Last Week: Will you play with fireworks on the 4th?
Yes, only small, quiet, legal, fireworks -10%
Yes I love all fireworks! --10%
County Fair Season is upon us! I will be sending out a couple of Doodle Polls to schedule volunteers to table in two hour shifts at our booths, in both Chautauqua and Cattaraugus. Keep an eye on your email!
Finally we have the fliers from Chautauqua. We will put this on the website under the Day Adventure Pass Program, and we will also get fliers printed and put in delivery this week with the zoo and aquarium updated passes.
