• ECISD –The Odessa Chamber of Commerce’s new teacher welcome breakfast was held in Barn G of the coliseum and attracted 500 to 600 people and 65 booths. Churches, nonprofits, insurance providers, banks, movie theaters, museums and many more attended to provide anything a new teacher would need to get started.
• Fresco – A new smoothie shop is open for business at 519 Jefferson Avenue, it is open Monday – Friday 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Water Wonderland – The old Water Wonderland has been sold to G.F. Elite Real Estate Holdings owned by Fily Lozoya Sr. The property will open as a water park and event center. The new owner hopes to have a portion of the park open by next spring.
• TTUHSC – The U.S. News and World Report ranked the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, School of Medicine as the second most affordable medical school in the country for out of state students. The ranking included tuition cost, debt at graduation and available scholarships by the medical schools. (63 percent of the TTUHSC medical students stay in Texas)
