• Sewell Family of Companies- Announced the acquisition of BMW of the Permian Basin.
• Downtown Revitalization- The city is looking at an additional $900,000 for renovations to the Ector Theatre. Part of the cost will be used to expand the stage 30 feet to accommodate plays and other acts. The $5 million set aside by the city for the Ector Theatre project came from sales tax revenue, and the additional money would come from the city’s general fund reserve balance.
• Music City Mall- At Home will move into the space recently vacated by Sears, bringing a big box retailer that specializes in home décor to the mall. At Home offers home décor from kitchen and dining goods to bedding, storage and organization merchandise to patio, garden and seasonal décor.
• UTPB- UTPB is developing a partnership with Omni Aero Flight School to offer a bachelor of arts and applied sciences in aviation science and security. If all the proper approvals are obtained, the program would launch in fall of 2018.
• Olive Garden- Permit issued 6/01/17, 5111 E. 42nd St., new restaurant, $1,500,000.
• Chickn 4 U- Permit issued 6/20/17, 4101 Billy Hext Rd., new restaurant, $1,252,887.
• At Home- Permit issued 6/06/17, 4101 E. 42nd St., Ste G-1, mercantile space, $2,700,000.
• City of Odessa PD- Permit issued 6/01/17, 210 N. Lincoln St., vehicle storage, $576,360.
