•         Medical Center Hospital- MCH is undergoing a system-wide technology upgrade.  Things should be simpler and more transparent for the patient.  Physicians and healthcare teams, whether based in the hospital or in clinics, will be able to access patient’s health records simultaneously, working in partnership with the patient to coordinate care, via permissions that the patient sets.  The new electronic medical record is MCH1, powered by the Cerner platform.

City of Odessa- City leaders and the private investors of the downtown hotel and conference center celebrated the pending construction of the roughly $80 million project with a groundbreaking ceremony in front of the Ector Theatre.  The hotel and conference center is expected to open in early 2019. Tributes to those participating in the project, a groundbreaking, a video celebrating Odessa’s 90th birthday, live music and food trucks were all part of the festivities.

Education Foundation of Odessa- Awarded $8,566.72 to Ector County Independent School District teachers for the 2017-2018 school year through its grant program. They partnered with the Odessa Council for the Arts & Humanities again this year to bring more funding to fine arts projects in ECISD.  The Odessa Council for the Arts & Humanities contributed $7,500 to the Education Foundation this year, allocating those funds to the area of fine arts.  This year the committee reviewed 81 proposals from 23 various campuses/departments within ECISD and funded 43 of those requests.
