"The quality of life is more important than life itself."

                           -Alexis Carrel

Quality of life is an important piece of the economic development puzzle.  Noble County's features in this area are very diverse. Chain O'Lakes State Park in Albion offers a great place for small boating, hiking, camping, or fishing.  With 117 lakes Noble county has more lakes than any other county in Northeast IN. At Sylvan Lake, located in Rome City, you can find great fishing and skiing.  Also on Sylvan Lake is the Gene Stratton-Porter State Historic Site, it contains over 100 acres of fields, woods, and beautiful gardens.
If you are traveling through Kendallville make sure to stop at the Mid-America Windmill Museum.  It will take you back in time and includes 52 restored windmills on the grounds.  Ligonier is home to the only perfumery in the United States, Annie Oakley Perfumery, which is open year-round for tours.  Don't forget to stop at St. James Restaurant in Avilla, established in 1878 and considered Indiana's oldest restaurant.  That is just a small sampling of what makes the quality of life in Noble County so great.
