"Work hard, stay positive, and get up early. It's the best part of the day."
-George Allen, Sr.
Earlier this month, several economic development professionals gathered for a week-long Ball State Indiana Economic Development course in Muncie.

The course was an introduction to economic development, covering topics such as: strategic planning, marketing, business retention and expansion, site selection, and many more.

Among those in attendance were representatives from EDCs of three northeast Indiana corner counties, pictured below: Sami Jacobs (Noble), Ryne Krock (LaGrange), and Anton King (DeKalb). All three were given scholarships by NIPSCO to attend the conference.

Indiana Michigan Power claimed that META is an "under-recognized resource in Noble County that will improve professional development opportunities for residents." I&M awarded a $15,000 grant to NCEDC to fund a marketing campaign for META. The goal is to raise awareness of the program and eventually build a more solid workforce in Noble County.
