Join us on Zoom for the AGM

November 17 2020
3:00 - 5:00 pm ET

We'll gather to do the usual annual business, and then spend some time reflecting on the state of Lifelong Learning programming.

Join us to hear how our research project is going, and for an update on new webinars planned for the winter. Then stay for a discussion about how the shift to online programming has had an impact on the lives of our institutions and the churches where our audience members serve. What kind of programming are we called to offer in these unusual times? What do church leaders need to help them feel effective, and to respond to the needs of their parishioners? How can we respond faithfully?

REA Fall Gathering 2020

Thursday, November 5 through Sunday, November 8th

ALLLM is a Related Learning Organization with the Religious Education Association (REA), and we normally meet in conjunction with their meetings.

Unfortunately, because of the pandemic, the REA meeting has been postponed to summer 2021.  However, in the interim, they wanted want to create online space for people to reconnect, to hold our business meeting, to invite potential new members to have an REA experience, and most importantly to provide space to speak to the current moment we find ourselves in with a Global pandemic, economic crisis, many teaching online for the first time, and racial injustice.

There will be an opening, plenaries, a business meeting, board meetings, an advisory council meeting, informal time to chat and chew together, and a closing. There will also be no registration fee. This is a completely free gathering so feel free to invite your friends, students, and/or others who might have wanted to come in the past but couldn’t. All are welcome!

On June 24, 2020 The Association of Theological Schools approved  new standards for assessing and accrediting member schools effective July 1, 2020. These standards  will have a substantial impact on the development and delivery of continuing education programming in those schools and beyond. Schools will now be required by the ATS accreditation committees to demonstrate “an understanding of learning and formation as lifetime pursuits by helping students develop motivations, skills, and practices for lifelong learning.”

How are your educational goals being sharpened by the situation we find ourselves in? What new prototypes are you considering, and what would help you get these ideas off the ground? What kinds of conversations are happening elsewhere in the institution you work from, that you're incorporating into your planning for programming in the near- to mid-future?

Continue the conversation with us as we continue to explore the new realities continuing educators, the church, and the world around us are experiencing. Help us articulate the changes we're noticing, and the impact this is having on the programming we're called to deliver.

In tandem with the rest of the world, leaders in continuing education for ministry have been busy pivoting in-person programs to online offerings due to the CoVid-19 pandemic. As the Association for Leaders in Lifelong Learning for Ministry (ALLLM), we invite you to join with us to share ideas, learnings, and questions that have been brought to the fore by our new, shared reality.
