Gala Raffle

Participate in our special raffle for a chance to win a lovely pastel, Cumulus Clouds over Buffalo Bayou, by Austin artist Wanda Gamble. Pastel on rag board. Framed. 46" W X 56" H. Value: $4,500. Thanks to Catherine Clark Mosbacher for donating this painting.

Want to see the pastel up close? Stop by the Lost Lake Visitor Center at 3422 Allen Parkway (at Dunlavy Street).

Additional tickets will be sold on-site at the BBP Gala, and the raffle winner will be announced at the event on Thursday, November 10, 2016. You do not need to be present to win.

Video Installation Launches Art Program for Cistern

Buffalo Bayou Partnership and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) are thrilled to co-present the inaugural art installation in the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern. Rain:  Magdalena Fernández at the Houston Cistern (#CisternRain) will feature 2iPM009 from the Venezuelan artist’s video series Mobile Paintings and open to the public on Saturday, December 10th. Stay tuned for more on this beautiful and evocative installation. Tickets are on sale now.

National American Bison Day on November 5

New Parking Now Open

Allen Parkway construction is complete and new parking is now accessible. Close to 150 spots located on the westbound of Allen Parkway between Sabine and Montrose streets are available. Intersections Conference on November 10-12

Intersections 2016 is a cross-disciplinary conference of quality of life, health, equity, development and environmental issues facing our growing region. Our goal is to foster synergistic thinking and collaboration by bringing different people together, and to demystify the mechanisms for creating sustainable change in Houston. The conference will focus on how local and global leaders are looking to nature and walkable urbanism to address pressing issues in the areas of culture, health, resilience, prosperity and social justice. Second Saturday Boat Rides

Date: Saturday, November 12
Time: 10 am-2 pm
Location: Sabine Promenade Boat Launch (150 Sabine Street, 77007)
Cost: $7 and $5 for children 4-12 (cash onlypayment taken when boarding)

These 30-minute boat rides are a great way to spend the afternoon with your family. Escape from the city and enjoy the cool breeze as you glide along Buffalo Bayou. Look for graceful herons, jumping fish, and even an occasional alligator sunning on the banks. Weather permitting. No reservations are taken for these tours. Happy Hour

Enjoy a free walking tour in Buffalo Bayou Park highlighting the landscape and ecology of 19th century Texas that created Houston, as well as the importance of prairies in rebuilding this astonishing and all but vanished ecosystem.
