The SPCA/Humane Society of Prince George’s County, Inc. is a non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to animal welfare. We do not operate the county shelter. We are chartered by the State of Maryland, but we receive no state or county funds. Our activities are supported solely by contributions, dues, and fundraising events.
IN MEMORIUM
Remembering Two Pivotal Advocates
Wayne Curry
Former Prince George's County Executive Wayne Curry passed away on July 2nd, after a year-long battle with lung cancer. He was 63. Elected in 1994, he served for two terms—key developmental years for the PGSPCA. Mr. Curry worked tirelessly to improve the image of Prince George's County, highlighting its diverse people and strong communities. A major proponent of the PGSPCA's spay/neuter clinic, Mr. Curry and his family brought their dog to be one of the first altered when our doors first opened in 2001.
Beverly B. Seeley
Long-time PGSPCA volunteer Beverly Seeley passed away on June 11th. She was 80 years old. Beverly answered PGSPCA's phone lines for many years, and will be remembered for her commitment to helping pet owners find low-cost vaccines and spay/neuter for their pets.

Thank You!
The PGSPCA would like to extend a very special "thank you" to all of the people that helped make our June events so successful. It was a particularly busy month, with Bowiefest, the Greenbelt Pet Expo, "Strut Your Mutt" in University Park, and a weekend spay/neuter event—not to mention all of our regularly scheduled adoption shows and vaccination clinic. Our volunteers are the best!
