LLOYDS BANK HOSPITALITY TENT

Lloyds Bank kindly chose Autism Guernsey as their Charity of the Year at the West Show.  Autism Guernsey and Lloyds raised an incredible £1,920.
100 WOMEN WHO CARE
In 2020 five professional women came together and recognised a local need for a charitable networking event that brings women of all ages, race, profession, sector and background together to support each other and provide a significant contribution to underfunded charities in the community of Guernsey.  This has now grown to 100 women who meet once a quarter.

Autism Guernsey was delighted to be one of the three chosen charities in the 3rd quarter and following a presentation by a member of staff, alongside two volunteers with autism, we raised a tremendous £4,352.  We are extremely grateful to all the women who chose to donate their £100 to our charity.
GOLDEN GUERNSEY GOAT TRAIL AUCTION
Following the goat trail around the Island, all the goats were auctioned at St. Pierre Park in September and raised a phenomenal £65,700 on the night.  Keep an eye out for the goats in their new homes.  Watch this space for our next project in 2023!
THANK YOU!

Sequent kindly continue to sponsor sports/activities for children and young people under the age of 25 with autism.  Activities undertaken during the past few months have included Kayaking, Climbing & Sailing.  These activities are all autism-friendly and without this funding many of our clients would be unable to experience activities such as these due to sensory difficulties etc.  These children & young people often push their boundaries at these sessions resulting in an increase in their confidence and self-belief.
HOW CAN YOU HELP SUPPORT AUTISM GUERNSEY

Lottery

The primary aim of the Autism Guernsey Lottery  is to ensure the sustainability of the Charity. Autism Guernsey offers a range of support in the local community including an Outreach Service where staff give one-to-one help to individuals and families. Demand outstrips our capacity and therefore we have a significant waiting list with referrals for support being received on a daily basis.

The charity receives no financial support from the States and has to rely on fundraising and charitable donations to continue the valuable work within the community.

Donation

If you would like to make a donation, please either send us a cheque made payable to Autism Guernsey or you can request bank details for a bank transfer from Autism Guernsey at T: 232879 or office@autismguernsey.org.gg.  We are also happy to accept cash donations.

Raffle Prizes

A significant part of our fundraising events is raffles and we are always looking for raffle prizes, however big or small.  If you have anything you would like to donate, please contact Autism Guernsey on T: 232879 or office@autismguernsey.org.gg

KIND FEEDBACK!

"Before we found Autism Guernsey XX and I were both in the dark. Having four children I knew something wasn’t quite right. School behaviour and home were getting worse, anger and frustration spikes more frequent. Despite previous attempts to access help through my doctor, schools and CAMHS his symptoms were subtle enough to go under the radar as misbehaviour rather than anxiety / autism and I wasn’t taken seriously. Autism Guernsey were supportive from the outset providing reassurance, sound advice and identified other traits that I wasn’t aware of that were probably making XX's life more difficult without me realising. They gave me hope we had found a starting point to get help for XX and our family. More importantly for me as a parent supporting a child who struggles with basic things most people find simple. Our Anxiety Gremlins course and access to help at the end of the phone has been invaluable. The staff have pitched the course at the right level and delivered it in a way that easy and fun for children to engage with. It’s really helped us identify how to approach life skills and open discussion in the right way. XX has made friends and can see that other children like him face the same anxiety / anger issues so he’s not “different”. He also really enjoyed the Accidental Zoo visit and it was great quality time which helped bond our often strained relationship."

"Since doing the course XX has taken part in sailing & camping, both of which were a massive NO NO beforehand. He’s even off on a weekend camp within his cubs group this week & is rather looking forward to it."

"XX has loved his Wednesday sessions. XX had grown in confidence and with XX's behavior there has been a real improvement. When XX is feeling slightly anxious or stressed he tends to ‘consult’ his scrap book."

"I would like to thank you guys for giving up your time and coming all the way over to Alderney.  Both the people you spoke with 1:1 and the guys who attended the training were blown away.  First hand I have seen the power of not feeling alone and it was so moving. I enjoyed every minute with you guys."
