Chairman's Corner: April 25th, 2014
Elections are won through hard work, long hours, and getting your message through to the largest number of voters possible. At the end of the day, you could have the greatest policy ideas in the world, but if you don’t hit the streets to convince people to vote for you, you’ll never have a chance to put those ideas into action.
Many of you have volunteered to help out MNGOPAC as an organization, and we thank you for that…and there will be many more chances to help as we get closer to November.
As most of you know, Waconia Mayor Jim Nash is our endorsed candidate for MN House District 47A. The district convention is May 15th. We need to make sure that Jim is the overwhelming victor in his district, and while he’s been doing a great job at talking to delegates and voters, he’s asking for help in making one final push.
You can find details in this newsletter, right after this column.
I encourage everyone to spend some time volunteering for a campaign, whether it be door knocking, making phone calls, passing out literature, or just working in the office.
Campaigning is a unique experience that everyone should be part of at least once, and you may find yourself wanting to get even more active in politics because of it! If nothing else, it will make you a far more informed voter, and that’s a great thing for pro-2A people.
We are in the planning phases of some summer events, and hope to have a few fun gatherings in the mix.
We’ll be at Game Fair in August, and I’m personally looking forward to that one. Some of the anti-gun politicians will probably be there as well, and we will get to take our pro-rights message right into their front yards.
More news to come soon…I’ll have a legislative wrap-up here within the next couple of weeks as things wind down, including some thoughts on why next year may be extremely ugly for gun rights after the overall (and expected) lull this session.
Yours in Liberty -

Mark Okern
Chairman
P.S. There's nothing that strikes fear in the heart of the anti-gun crowd than a strong war-chest in the hands of a Pro-Second Amendment group. Can I count on you to send along $5 or more to drive up the anti-gunners blood pressure this week?
