Virtual Library Legislative Day

allows library advocates to contact Congress from home

Virtual Library Legislative Day is part of the American Library Association’s (ALA) National Library Legislative Day, held each spring in Washington, D.C.  This year, National Library Legislative Day will be May 1-2, 2017. Virtual Library Legislative Day activities will be held throughout the week of May 1-5, 2017, and will be an opportunity for all library advocates to make their voices heard on a national level. Library advocates who cannot make it to Capitol Hill for the event can be a part of the effort by calling and/or emailing their elected officials any time the week of May 1-5. Visit this web page in late April for talking points to include when writing or calling your legislators. Register now to support libraries for Virtual Library Legislative Day

United for Libraries, the ALA Washington Office, ALA's Chapter Relations Office, and the ALA Office for Library Advocacy lead Virtual Library Legislative Day.

Please Note Change in Location of Friends Meeting

The Saturday, May 13;  10:00am meeting of the Friends of Rosendale Library will be at the Rosendale Youth Center instead of the usual Rosendale Cafe.

 Rosendale Library Presents:

Susan Gingerich

the Herb Lady, Tells it Like it Is

Wednesday, May 10
Rosendale Public Library
264 Main St
Rosendale NY
845 658-9013
7PM/FREE
Contact: Sue Horowitz

Drawing from the rich history of herbal lore from Europe, Native America and China, Susan spins tales as she recalls old beliefs about plants, sharing the ingredients from her basket. You'll laugh at some of the old beliefs as she unravels the history of plant cures from dermatitus to dropsy, while  giving new perspectives to "modern" medicine.

Library and Community

"If you can't access your local library, you feel like you are not part of the community.  You are in safe hands if you are in Rosendale.”
-Olga Petrou

Children had a great time hunting for eggs inside the Library during Story Hour.

There will be no Story Hour on May 4th.  Regularly scheduled Story Hour will resume on May 11th.

Vintage Postcards for Sale

Vintage postcards are available for sale at the library.
The wonderful line drawing of the library was done by Architect Albert Millikins for the Re-Dedication of the Rosendale Library in July of 1977.
They are 50 cents each or 10 for $3.
Please check out these lovely cards the next time you are in the library!
