"Confessions of a Bar Brat: Growing Up in Rosendale, NY:
a Memoir"
Judith Boggess, Author

Narrated by a young girl growing up in the coarsest bar on Main St during the 1950's, "Confessions" is an unforgettable memoir of a girl's life, told unflinchingly and with great passion and humor. The book's visual impact is influenced in part from the Rosendale Theatre- where escape became a vehicle for growth.

Historical references to businesses and townspeople complete the portrait of a town in transition through the decades.

Tips on self-publishing will be discussed after her reading.  Book signing.

Rosendale Library Receives State Funding!

A $5,000 "Bullet Aid" grant was received from State Senator John Bonacic's office, allowing us to purchase programming equipment.

In addition to enhancing the scope of children's and adult events, this grant also provides for program funding.

Mark Brandhofer, of Brandhofer Audio on Main Street, has contributed his expertise to making sure that we  continue to offer quality programming at the Rosendale Public Library.
Keep an eye out for future presentations!

Children's books on their way to Africa

The following is a letter from Laura Prince to Ann Sarrantonio and the Rosendale Library Board of Directors:

Sun. July 23, 2017
Dear Ann, the Board of Directors and volunteers who have made low-cost children's books available,

I am happy to tell you that the first batch of books, most of which came from your ongoing basement sale, is on its way to southern Africa.  I am still looking for host program libraries and rural schools to create story hours and ultimately donate to places where they can be kept in shared spaces.

Thanks in particular to Ann Sarrantonio for pointing me to the wonderful volunteer literacy training offered by Ulster Literacy.

I hope to offer updates as this project takes root.  In the meantime the books are on the road.

Your generosity has helped get the project started.

With gratitude,
Laura Prince

Toys for Tots
