Homebound Services
Thanks to an outreach grant from the Mid Hudson Library System, the Rosendale Public Library has launched a new service which makes library materials available to Rosendale residents who are unable to visit the library due to ongoing or temporary illness or disability. The Homebound Library Service Program participants can borrow books, DVDs music CDs and more. All items are delivered to the patrons' homes by a library employee or a certified volunteer.
To qualify for the new Homebound Library Service, an individual must have a Rosendale Public Library card. An individual who does not already have a Rosendale Public library card may call the library at 845 658-9013 and a Homebound Service staff person will arrange to meet with the patron to assist with the application process. A patron with a library card may call the library's Homebound Services to request the service and receive an application. Applications can be picked up at the Rosendale Public Library or mailed to the patron.

The Secret of 1945
by Barbara Freer
In June 1945, Bobbie, an American, Protestant girl, was taken to a French prison. The ten-year-old and her grandparents had survived WWII in German occupied France. Bobbie’s parents, living in America, had received no news of their family for many years and finally heard in early June 1945 that their relatives were living in liberated Metz, France and were safe. By June, Bobbie and her grandparents had disappeared and all contact was lost again. This memoir was written by a local author who will be discussing her book and her war time experiences at the library. Please join us for an interesting discussion.

Thank You!
The support and generosity that flows to our library from the community continues to fill our hearts with gratitude. On behalf of the Friends of the Rosendale Library, we thank our many financial donors and volunteers. It is through your contributions of money and time that we are able to offer programming, purchase needed equipment, send out the enewsletter, and contribute to the library building projects. We especially want to thank the volunteers from the Woodcrest Community who help with our book sale, the Rosendale Café who hosts our bi-monthly Friends meetings, Nancy Tuller who donates handmade clothing for our fundraisers, Rose Unes who creates our beautiful graphic materials, and our library volunteer Ed Redelberger for his devoted work in the Bookcellar.
We are still accepting donations through the end of the current tax year. Any donor who needs a tax letter documenting their donation, please contact us at rosendalelibrary@hvi.net.
