Voices and Images in Rosendale Library History

Come hear, in prose and poetry, passion and humor, about some of the many people who made Rosendale Library what it is today. Accompanying images will help bring these people to life as we share the stories of their dreams and memories, generosity and hard work.
Linda Tantillo has been on staff of Rosendale Library for over 15 years. Local History is one of her passions, having worked in the local history collections at Elting Library and the Huguenot Street Library in New Paltz. From the beginning of her work here, she was has been dedicated to building up and sharing the Rosendale Local History Collection.
We will celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Rosendale Library with cake after the lecture.

Showing of the old movie “The Desk Set” with Kathryn Hepburn and Spencer Tracy. The evening will conclude with 60th anniversary cake.

A Celebration of Storytelling
For Parents and Children Ages 2-6 Years-Old

Join us in celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Rosendale Library with an exciting morning of storytelling by professional authors and storytellers.
• A retired kindergarten teacher will delight the audience with a classic tale told in the oral tradition
• A local children’s book author will read stories from her published collection
• A local author will tell stories that engage children by using felt props and sign language
• Songs and crafts will build on the storytelling experiences
• The celebration will include an anniversary cake marking this milestone in our library’s history.

Nancy Van Laan has written many books perfect for reading aloud, including With a Whoop and a Holler, an American Library Association Notable Book; and the 1990 Parents' Choice Award winner, Possum Come a-Knockin'.
