Hi <<First Name>>,
Welcome to our Summer 15/16 Newsletter

It has been a while since our last newsletter and we have had a few changes. Mark our valued Service Manager left in April for a management role in a large automotive organisation. It was sad to see Mark go after over 10 years at Parnell Motors, but it was a great opportunity for him and we wish him well. Blair Davie stepped into Mark’s role. Blair is a talented mechanic and has done a great job stepping into Mark’s shoes. Ross, Greg and Luke make up the rest of the team,

Ross has been with the business since 2012 and Greg since 2009 with a short break along the way. Both are really good NZ trained mechanics with a huge amount of experience and certified to carry out Warrant of Fitness’s (WOFs). Luke started with us in April last year as an apprentice and we can already tell he will be great mechanic.

We have been trying to find another excellent mechanic to join us over the last few months and it’s proving very difficult which reinforces the quality of our team, but also points to some challenges coming in our industry.

What is a car service worth

There is a huge range of car services in terms of price and quality. At Parnell Motors a service generally costs between $320 and $500 depending on the type of vehicle. We spend between 1 ½ - 2 hours on the service, not just changing the oil but in a systematic way checking and accessing componentry (it’s a big list). The aim is to keep your car safe and reliable. Simple words that mean a lot when you think about. If you are concerned about the cost of running a car here are a couple of cheeky comparisons:
Coffee machine service
$350 – turnaround one week, it didn’t go on a hoist to check the feet and we weren’t offered a loan coffee machine!
Mountain bike service
$150 to $300, how many years to train the bike mechanic and how much complexity between one bike and another?

Just a reminder we service and carry out most repairs to automotive air-conditioning systems. We can also deodorize your car with a special machine if needed.

Britomart Service

If you work or live in the CBD please don’t forget to try our Britomart Service (or tell your friends about it) You can book your car with us as normal and drop it off at Valet Parking at Britomart Carpark. See our website for more information and just let us know if you want to use this service. Free check Please feel free to drop in if you would like us to quickly check your tyre pressures, oil level and coolant levels between services.

Out and about - Piha Walks

There are quite a few easy short walks in Piha, 40 minutes’ drive from Auckland. We like Kitekite Track. It’s great introduction to the bush of the Waitakere Ranges. From its beginning at the car park, Kitekite Track follows the Glen Esk Stream up to the fantastic Kitekite Falls (a great spot for cooling off - pack a towel!)

Kitekite Rarack

Thank you for your business and we look forward to seeing you soon.
Kind regards
