We are thrilled to welcome our first family of rescued goats to the Refuge. Sweet Mama (top left) was a dairy goat who, after years of use, was taken to slaughter. She miraculously escaped the stockyards and ended up on a nearby cattle farm where she gave birth to 2 sweet babies. As they grew, it became obvious that a permanent loving home would be needed. Now safe at the Refuge, Sweet Mama and her babies will live together for the remainder of their natural lives. Huge thanks to Leigh Kostory for saving these precious babies, caring for them and bringing them home to us. Please help us welcome to Sweet Mama, Ace and Ivy to our family!

Duck & Goose Campaign

We are elated to report that the online portion of our Duck & Goose Campaign was a huge success and we made our goal of raising $10,000 towards the project! Thanks to special grants from A Well Fed World and from the Ittner Family Foundation, we are now only $7,000 away from having all of the necessary funds to build infrastructure for ducks and geese in need. We can't wait to welcome these amazing birds to our sanctuary, so please consider making a donation towards our campaign. Every dollar you donate will be matched by an anonymous contributor, so your gift to us makes an even bigger impact. Thank you to everyone who has donated thus far!

Goat & Sheep Barn Success

We are thrilled to have completed our barn for rescued goats and sheep, a project designed by architect Paul Drake to meet the specific needs of the animals who live in it. At our barn opening party we had an amazing turn out and had a fantastic time celebrating this milestone with our community. Special thanks goes to the fabulous band Anonymous Bosch, who kept us entertained all evening, and to Cara Smelter for creating a beautiful painting to promote our Duck & Goose Campaign. Also thank you to Roots Hummus and to our entire Board of Directors for their delicious food donations.
