We are thrilled to host Olive Prince as our first ever Artist In Residence!
"This brief scene from Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s Love in the Time of Cholera is the initial inspiration for my new work. In collaboration with visual artist Carrie Powell, I will recreate this image to make an atmosphere for the audience and the dance to reside in. The audience enters into the space as the sun is setting and becomes a part of the parlor scene. Dealing with unions and separations a dance emerges from compiling ideas of emptiness, isolation, and the inherent duality in life."
Olive will be performing her work at The Iron Factory on April 9th, 10th, and 11th. For more information about Olive and her work click HERE.

Impulsive Flow with Marion Ramirez
Impulsive Flow is a weekly release- based contemporary technique class that incorporates elements of Latin American dance (baile popular) in it’s movement sensibility and musicality, like the use of syncopation and the circularity in the movements. In this class we will prepare the body for dancing through improvisational games and simple movement pathways that explore developmental movement patterns, facilitating a balanced muscle tone thru the body and efficient ways of moving. These principles will prepare the students to learn more complex movement sequences and flow confidently in and out of the vertical line of balance, ride momentum, embrace disorientation and follow delicious sequential and simultaneous movements. Students will be encouraged to find their personal expression within the dances and explore a range of dynamics from fluid suspensions to percussive attacks.
