Membership in AAUW
As you may have heard, the Open Membership bylaws change did not reach the threshold to remove the degree requirement for membership in AAUW. Although more members voted to remove the requirement than not to remove it, the vote was still short. Therefore, at least a two-year degree is required for full AAUW membership.
AAUW Little Rock will continue to welcome all interested people in our events, newsletters, and activities regardless of degree status. We are fortunate to be part of many different Central Arkansas communities in our efforts and projects.
Also, the new dues year has begun. Please check your membership status and if you are not current, renew soon while you can still do so on line. If you have any questions about your membership, you can contact Treasurer Nell Matthews or VP-Membership Mary McGehee. Another option is checking online at www.aauw.org

Dorothy Davis Stuck
1921 - 2021
Dorothy Davis Stuck, AAUW Little Rock member and Arkansas Women's Hall of Fame inductee, passed away July 1st. She celebrated her 100th birthday in February. One of her many accomplishments was implementation of Title IX of the Civil Rights Act. She was also key person in the creation of the Arkansas Press Women and a charter member. She and AAUW LR member Nan Snow wrote a biography of Roberta Fulbright (J. William Fulbright's mother), which the AAUW Little Rock Book Club reviewed.
We will miss Dorothy's wisdom, counsel, and interest. She was a true trail-blazer. All branch members are encouraged to learn more about her work in the Encyclopedia of Arkansas as well as other aricles below:
