PINK UP PARKES!
Parkes is pinking itself up in October!
Marg is pleased to be part of the Pink Up Your Town Committee and we are looking forward to pinking up Parkes!
Pink Up Your Town is a fantastic way for the whole community to come together during Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October). Driven by the dedication and passion of local volunteer groups, Pink Up Your Town is a way to bring together clubs, businesses, schools and neighbours to create a visual show of support for those experiencing breast cancer and raise funds for the McGrath Foundation.

NATIONAL PARKS ASSOCIATION WALK
Last walk this quarter coming up!
Saturday 29th June: Conimbla N.P. Wallaby and Ironbark trails.
Meet at Gooloogong Park 0915. Medium 8 kilometres. Leader: Peter Cannon 6866 1225.   All walks are subject to there being no adverse RFS fire warnings at the time and no closure of the relevant State Forest due to Hunting Permits etc.
Medium walks are usually between 5 to 8 kilometres and may be over moderate hills or rough terrain. They may involve some off track walking and involve shorter distance overall due to rougher conditions. Suitable for an average fitness level.
Walkers are reminded to bring along enough food and water for the entire day as well as suitable clothing, footwear, hat and sunscreen. A pair of good binoculars and a fold up chair is recommended.
Please contact the listed walk leader the night before the walk if you intend to come. A $2.00 donation for each walker is appreciated.
CITY2SURF
Have you always wanted to do the City2Surf?....maybe it is only some of us!

This is the year. I'm not getting any younger and nope....I'm not at my peak fitness...just inspired to join the Landcare NSW Team and raise awareness for the work that they do.

Landcare NSW advocate for funding for .5 of a role that keeps me in a job working over the Parkes and Forbes Shires, garnering support, in-kind and financial for works and events in our Shires. This is my page. You can go and check it out, even if you can't donate! I'd love your support, even if it's just a wave or a beep (maybe not at 6am).

Future of Farming Must be Built on Different Thinking
Article from The Land from Peter Mailler who is a grain and cattle farmer on the NSW/Queensland border.
"Meanwhile, our farm leaders and governments cannot articulate a cohesive drought strategy or policy that even recognises the importance to society of keeping our best farmers farming in the best ways."

Annual Land and Stock Returns

The Central West Local Land Services are asking landholders to lodge Annual Land and Stock Returns this year, even though drought conditions persist across the state. The 2019 rates notice was covered under the NSW Government’s drought relief package, but it is important you still lodge your return.

Your Annual Land and Stock Return information, even as a nil return, helps build a statewide picture of land use in NSW. This information is invaluable in the event of an emergency or a biosecurity event such as a pest or disease outbreak.

It allows us to respond quickly and accurately to help you get back to business!

If you pay Local Land Services rates or have a property identification code (PIC), you need to lodge a return by 31 August 2019.

Submit your annual land and stock return online.
