ALECTOWN drumMUSTER
We are thrilled to hear that the Alectown drumMUSTER site is soon ready for operation. A fantastic initiative by the community, Cr Neil Westcott and Parkes Shire Council. A welcome addition! We look forward to providing more information as their first collection draws near.

GOOD GOVERNANCE AND STRATEGIC PLANNING WORKSHOPS

Do you manage, co-ordinate or sit on a local board or committee?
Why not come along to one of these workshops and learn ways to amplify the positive impact of your group from world renowned presenter Steven Bowman.
Governance and strategic planning can be considered boring or a 'box ticking' exercise. Over the course of the two days Steven will demystify governance and simplify strategic planning, freeing up time and providing direction for your group.

Who should attend
Registration is open to regional board and committee members, their project officers and managers from any industry, not-for-profit, community service, natural resource management agency or organisation that would like to improve their performance. With a diverse range of professionals expected, the workshops will  also provide an excellent opportunity for networking.

BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION TRUST LACHLAN CORRIDOR CONSERVATION TENDER
Are you a landholder interested in conserving native vegetation on your property and earning annual payments to manage it? The Biodiversity Conservation Trust (BCT) is conducting information sessions for landholders interested in applying for the Lachlan Corridor Conservation Tender. Find out about:

  • Why is this being run in the Lachlan Corridor?
  • How do I know if this is for me?
  • What are the next steps if I want to take part?

Jemalong Irrigation has established a scholarship program to encourage rural youth to further their passions in rural and regional areas.
Applications are now being invited for the 2019 Jemalong Irrigation Rural Scholarship Program with scholarships of between $2500- $5000 available. 
Applicants must:
Be a resident of the Forbes or Lachlan Shires; Be under 25 years of age; Be an Australian Citizen; Demonstrate a desire to contribute to the future of regional NSW; and Demonstrate how a scholarship would assist them in achieving their education or training goal.
There is no limit on the types of courses that qualify.
Applicants can be completing an apprenticeship, studying at TAFE or university either on campus or by distance.
Applicants must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have been accepted into the course before funds can be paid.
It is a requirement of funding to supply an acquittal at the completion of the course.

Applications will close on the 31st January 2019.
