Central West Lachlan Landcare have released a new website. You can keep up to date with what is happening in our area and across the State.

For upcoming events, go to our calendar and click on the links. This includes Landcare, National Parks Association and other local events at (too easy).

If your Landcare Group would like to showcase works or provide information for a tab on our website we would love to hear from you!
The NSW Government has provided $15 million over four years to renew the government-community relationship and unlock the full potential of the thousands of volunteers in the Landcare network.

The program reflects the sentiment of the Memorandum of Understanding between Local Land Services and Landcare NSW. It has been designed to put Landcare on a more sustainable funding footing, with the majority of the funds going to community-based local coordinator positions.

It is a new commitment to support regional Landcare Networks and local groups and will not be allocated for on-ground works.

What does this mean for the Central West Lachlan Landcare area?
With the addition of this funding we can provide more services to our communities and encourage our local Landcare network.
We can now keep our doors open between 9am - 3.30pm on a weekday.
The Local Landcare Coordinators Initiative is funded by the NSW Government, and is supported through the partnership of Local Land Services and Landcare NSW.

Len Reade Corridor

Many of you would remember the late Len Reade, who was a champion for Landcare and was an active member of Forbes Urban Landcare.

He was a good example to us all in that he wasn't just a champion for his town, he could see the bigger picture and had an appreciation for Landcare on a wider scale and was a huge encourager for Central West Lachlan Landcare.

Len has been recognised through the 'official' gazetting of the Len Reade Corridor and we couldn't be more pleased.

The link to the Forbes Advocate article is here. Please like and share.

Remember, our Green Army Team starts in July. Do you have any re-veg projects that they can be involved in?

The Local Land Services have released the 2015-16 Pest and Weed Drought Funding Guidelines. Central West Lachlan Landcare hope to be involved in this program.

We would love to hear from you if you have a genuine need for options to address Pest and Weed management problems in your area. We are currently looking at ways to progress with a project application to address on-the-ground issues and increase the capacity of our communities to combat these problems. We would particularly encourage an area (or Landcare Group) approach to issues (not just one property). Please contact me at or 6862 4914 if you are interested in being involved.

For more information on the program, click here.
Applications close at 5pm on Monday, 4 April 2016.
